Lesson 2: Rhythmic Patterns
Safety in your surroundings
Concepts: Percussion and focus on rhythmic interpretation.
Preperation:
Percussion instruments are ideal, but bodypercussion will also work.
You have to be aple to play the videos for the children.
Be ready for chaos!
Introduction:
There are lots of problems in the modern society, but all of them have a way to be overcome.
Exercise 1:
(Discuss road-safety and car-accidents. Specifically target the possible causes and effects thereof.)
A big cause of road-accidents are the weather. Listen to the following song and let the children clap along to the rhythm.
Exercise 2:
One of the problems in modern society is common safety.
(Ask the children of a few things you can do wrong and can go to jail for. )
The police will punish you for things that you do wrong.
(Let everyone do a dance, sing along or just enjoy the video for a change.)
Exercise 3:
(Ask about the possible dangers of FIRES in households. Let the children keep beat through percussion instruments or body percussion to the following song. They can also sing along if they want to.)
(Make sure they understand the meaning of the song)
